Lista Aperta offers you a trip to discover Palermo, the capital of Sicily, a destination for many tourists every year who are fascinated by its beauty and history. You will have the unmissable opportunity to visit Vienna for a duration of five days and four nights, from Friday, April 14 to Tuesday 18, and fully immerse yourself in city life.
Departure is scheduled for late Friday afternoon from Milan Malpensa Airport (to be reached independently). This will give us time to deposit our luggage at the Jo&Joe hostel ten minutes from the center, which we will reach by bus and go to dinner.
Saturday in the morning we are scheduled to visit the Martorana Church, famous for its mosaics, and then move to the Cathedral admiring the Pretoria Fountain and the Quattro Canti. While the afternoon will be devoted to the Palatine Chapel and the Palace of the Normans, the historic seat of the rulers of the City.
Transportation will be on foot, given the hostel’s strategic location.
On Sunday we will, however, move to visit Monreale, a cathedral that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015. After lunch we will dedicate ourselves again to the admirable architecture of Palermo, visiting San Giovanni degli Eremiti, a historic palace of Arab-Norman Palermo. The day will end on a high note with a tour of the harbor, illuminated by the lights of Palermo.
Monday’s day will be dedicated in the first part to visiting the Teatro Massimo, Italy’s largest opera house, stopping for lunch at the city’s most famous open-air market so we can finally immerse ourselves in its culinary culture. In the afternoon we will move to the second town, Cefalù. Here there will be time to go have an aperitif by the sea at sunset.
Finally, Tuesday in the afternoon we will pack up and reach the airport by bus back to Milan.
